The Palmiet River Watch (PRW) initiated and hosted the Palmiet River Rehabilitation Project (PRCRP) – Wider Stakeholder Meeting (8 September 2017); and presented a list of environmental infractions, and they were included as mission critical in the PRCRP Action Plan.
The Action Plan is to be circulated to the wider stakeholder group for their comment, this version (1 January 2018) has yet to be endorsed by the city as final.
The Action Plan was requested at Community Of Invitation meeting 4 April 2018; and and updated version was supplied 13 April 2018.
The environmental infractions include:
- Industrial pollution.
- Fresh water pipe bursts.
- Sewage pollution.
- River bed scouring and banks collapsing.
- Waste disposal.
- Alien Invasive species.
- Land fragmentation and land misuse.
- The poor application of Legislation and Bylaws.
