Poor storm-water management leading to erosion, river bed scouring and banks collapsing.

Infrastructure needs to be revisited throughout the Palmiet River valley (building, access, drainage, water delivery and waste disposal systems), to stop, and the damage caused by outdated development, design, construction, and maintenance practices; which were based on economic and social benefits, with little if any regard for the environmental consequences.

Two pilot projects were proposed by Lee D’Eathe (PRW) to address environmental impacts by revisiting ‘development’, rehabilitation of natural and introduction of artificial ecological infrastructure.
